Our learning environments...

Allow Deliberate and Immersive Learning

The learning space works overtime as a library, research lab, workshop, and a studio. It's not your average classroom. Exploration is the cornerstone of the learning environment. We give the children the keys to the universe and plant the seeds of learning. This gives children the opportunity to internalize the knowledge and make it their own. Every child learns at their pace while we support them to fulfill their potential.

Cultivate Curiosity

Imagine a space where children's natural curiosity was honored and respected. Elementary children are full of questions. How did the world begin? When did humans develop? How does this machine work? The foundation for all the learning that takes place begins with the lessons of the "Great Lessons." These lessons provide the “big picture” of language, mathematics, astronomy, earth science, geography, chemistry, physics, biology, history, and art.

Create Mutual Collaboration

We value collaboration over competition and don't pit children against each other with rewards and grades. Instead, children are encouraged to work together and help each other out. This is real life social emotional learning without a curriculum and worksheets, but rather through experiences that come through engagement. The environment is set up to allow for learning conflict resolution skills, relationship mending, compassion, and responsibility.

"Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment." — Dr. Maria Montessori

Where school doesn't feel like school

Our program is designed to mimic real life, where children are curious and engaged learners in an environment that is judgement-free and stress-free, avoiding the burnout that comes with performance based education. This is where learning happens naturally.

A systems thinking learning scope and sequence that explores the whole and the parts and their interconnectedness

The Elementary curriculum, called Cosmic Education, allows the children to explore the subject areas as they experience the interrelatedness of all things to do with the universe and its creation. These subject areas are introduced through the five Great Stories.

The five Great Stories are an important and unique group of stories that provide the Elementary children with a “big picture” of life and the world around them. The stories lead children to contemplate the past, discover the present, and imagine the future. At the same time, the children develop an awareness of the natural world and its laws, while also exploring subject areas such as science, history, geography, math, and language. The stories are told in an organic way to inspire and open the doors to further study of interrelated topics.

Math and Geometry

Math and geometry in Montessori are approached as interconnected and dynamic fields that inspire curiosity, logical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world. Lessons begin with clear and direct instruction, guiding students through foundational concepts like operations, place value, fractions, and the properties of shapes. Using materials such as the stamp game, geometry stick box, and iron equivalence material, children move from understanding concrete representations to grasping abstract ideas. Through their work, they uncover patterns, relationships, and the inherent order within math and geometry, which mirrors the structure and harmony of the universe. This understanding helps children make sense of the world around them and connects them to their cosmic task—their unique role in contributing to and understanding the greater whole. This approach not only builds strong mathematical skills but also fosters a sense of purpose and interconnectedness with the world.
