Welcome to Fig Tree Montessori where creativity is fostered, children are self-constructing their personality through purposeful work, and adults serve as guides on this journey!
Fig Tree Montessori was born out of a mom's desire to provide an education for her children that connects the hand, heart, and mind - keeping at the forefront the development of the whole child.
Our mission at Fig Tree Montessori is to create a safe and constructive environment where children are able to self-construct and develop without obstacles. We want to cultivate the love of learning and help children become flexible, independent, emotionally intelligent, creative, and divergent thinkers who are ready to go out into the world well-equipped to face the challenges that exist in our time and place and still thrive. We are deeply rooted in tradition and we hope to offer an education wherein a child not only thrives academically, but is also well-educated, well-grounded, and deeply attached to their roots, wherever that may be.
Family Centered Approach
We believe that our school is simply a supplement to the important work that you do as a parent. We believe in developing a partnership between parents and teachers. Parents are crucial to the development of their children and we aim to bridge the gap between home and school through parent education, involvement, and community building.
More than Just Academics
We don't just emphasize on the intellectual development of the child. Social development within a community context is highly emphasized. Children work in groups and learn to navigate social situations. Spiritual and emotional development is emphasized through connecting the learning to the bigger picture of the human story.
An Education for Life
Montessori doesn't just prepare children for a robust academic career, it provides an education for life. It prepares them to be lifelong learners and curious explorers. With an emphasis on working with the hand, heart, and mind, the education we offer is truly holistic. Children engage in care of the self, others, and the environment. Learning doesn't end in the classroom, it's a lifestyle!
